Aw Snap! Error Google Chrome 78 Fix

The most recent Google Chrome update 78 is causing some users to experience an Aw Snap! error. You may notice that it opens but you are unable to access the settings. Some have mentioned it might be caused by Symantec Endpoint.

This error will probably be corrected in a future update but in the mean time you can get it running by following these steps.

  1. Right click on your Google Chrome shortcut
  2. Select Properties
  3. Click on the Compatibility tab
  4. Check Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 8
  5. Click Apply
  6. Re-open chrome again

You should now be able to open Chrome as usual. I suggest unchecking this setting sometime in November 2019 to see if Chrome 79 fixes this bug.
