It can be hard finding a good web hosting company. I have used some good ones and some really bad ones. Below are my recommendations based on the following criteria.
- Provide quality customer support
- Based in the USA. I want my server to be in the same country as my audience to improve the speed of the site.
- Do not host adult or illegal content

WordPress managed hosting
If you plan on creating a lot of WordPress sites for clients I recommend checking out managed WordPress hosting by Flywheel.
Flywheel helps with some of the top frustrations of managing multiple sites for clients like: transferring the billing, quick builds of staging sites, and you can create site blueprints that install frequently used plugins and themes so you can save time starting new projects.
They have a free ebook detailing how they could help you earn recurring income for your business.
Self managed WordPress hosting
I host my personal websites with A2 Hosting based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. I switched to them because I wanted to use cPanel and have the ability to host multiple sites with a unique IP address. They have a lot of ways to optimize site speed and performance and have a free migration service.

Free static site hosting
If you do not need server side scripting like PHP, .Net, or Ruby you can host your projects for free using GitHub Pages or sites that host code inside your Dropbox account (KISSr or Paperplane.io).
I provide a video tutorial on how to set this in my Bootstrap 4 Toolkit.
