How is it Different from a Responsive Website?

Mobile-friendly is essentially the broad term for a site having a good user experience on mobile devices. The recommended method is responsive design. It is a one-size fits all approach. You could also have a dedicated mobile site or use adaptive design which loads different code depending on the device. But these options are more technical and require device detection on the server to provide the correct site version.
